Walter Noah Speagle, 81, 2139 Lynn Mountain Road, died Sept. 5, 2000 at Valdese General Hospital. He was a native of Catawba County, son of Jacob Walter and Gracie Lee Lutz Speagle, a retired sawmill owner and lifetime member of Ebenzer United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 60 years, Mildred Lowman Speagle; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Justina Speagle, Robert Speagle, Vale, Rev. Ernest and Debbie Speagle, Casar; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Hatley Wright, Gayle and C.W. Willis, Jo and Jim Smith, Vale, Lori and Dean Yancey, Connelly Springs; brother, Charles F. Speagle, Vale; number of nieces and nephews; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren
