William search Bartram, the son of Corydon Porter and Lucinda Zuck Bartam, was born near Marion, Ohio., on Sept. 20, 1867, and passed away in the Sabetha hospital on Nov. 15, 1961. He had attained the age of 94 years, one month and 25 days.


When an infant he came with his parents to Oregon, Mo., where they purchased a farm. Here he attended rural school, grew to manhood, and followed the occupation of farming.


On Oct. 8, 1889, he was married to Lydia Elena Black at the Methodist parsonage at Maitland, o. They made their home in Missouri for the first five years, and in 1895 they came to Nebraska to a farm near Liberty where they resided for 22 years. In 1917 they moved to Pawnee county and for the first two years lived on a farm northwest of Pawnee City, then moved to their present home southeast of Pawnee City and resided here for the last 42 years.


He leaves to mourn his death three children, Ulysses Grant Bartram Sabetha, Kans.; Hazel Duncan, Newport, Nebr., and Corydon Porter Bartram, Pawnee City; also five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife his parents, four sisters, three brothers, and one great great grandchild.


The funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 18, at the wherry Mortuary, Rev. W. . Wallis officiating. Mrs. Byford Metzger, accompanied by Mrs. Rex Crom, sang "In the garden" and "Abide With Me." Burial was in the Pawnee City cemetery.
