Mary Anderson is the daughter of Ambrose Anderson and Hannah Stevens Anderson. Ambrose and Hannah Anderson lived on a farm in Cooper county for 14 years after their marriage and then sold it and moved to Pettis county, Missouri. He bought 214 acres, 12 miles northeast of Sedalia and lived there ten years then moved to 200 acres where he lived in 1895. One half of this farm was under tillage and one half he rented.
