SHADY GROVE: Mrs. Lance Sayre, an old resident of Rural, died April 15th. She was born Mary Herald in Pennsylvania on 17 April 1817 and was 2 days short of her 86th birthday. She married Lance Sayre in Logan , Ohio in 1840 and they then came to Illinois . They had 9 children, 2 dying in infancy. The surviving children are Perry Sayre of Oregon; Chas. Sayre of Minnesota; Mrs. Martha Couch, Mrs. John Long, Mrs. Brant Metzler, Mrs. Howard Worthington and W Allan Sayre all of whom live near their father's house. She was a member of the Lutheran Church . The funeral was Sunday at the Beulah Church.
