Associate Reformed Presbyterian Death & Marriage Notices
Due West Telescope, Due West, South Carolina
Mr. John Bradley, whose remarkable sudden death was announced last week [March 8th issue reported that he had died on March 2nd "when in the act of shaving to prepare for the coming Sabbath"] was in the seventy sixth year of his age. Mr. Bradley connected himself with the A. R. Church at Long Cane under Father Porter after the fifth day's examination as the custom then was, when only sixteen years of age. Consequently, he had been a consistent member for about sixty years, and a ruling elder for more than twenty years. He was the last of those baptized in infancy by Dr. Clark. … Having lost his companion a few years ago, he lived alone with his servants, although in sight of some of his children, and spent much time in reading. He lived to see his children, five in number, all prosperously settled around him, members of the same church and walking in his footsteps.
