Gary Sneed
HURRICANE – Gary Neil Sneed, 63, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at his home. He was Mr. Hurricane and class president in 1965. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi in mechanical engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening and playing dominoes. He was a member of the Union Church of Nazarene.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cecil Russell officiating. Burial will be in Union Nazarene Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by three children, Mary Nell Nanney (David) of Shannon, Laura Sudbeck (Jamey) of Jackson and Christopher Sneed of Thaxton; four grandchildren, Brittany and Michael Evans, Tristan Trott and Mackenzie Sneed; one great-grandchild, Vincent N. Kilbourne; three sisters, Betty Jo Coward (Murry) of Tupelo, Charlie Ruth Montgomery (Billy Q.) of Pontotoc and Jeanette Jones (Rivers) of Belden; and two brothers, Billy Ray Sneed (Arah) of Thaxton and J.C. Sneed of California.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lourine Frankline and Nadine Spears of Thaxton; and two brothers, L.D. Sneed of Blue Mountain and "Hooter" Sneed of New Albany.
Pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Stephen Montgomery, Ray Sneed, Kevin Coward and Joseph Montgomery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
