Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at McKenzie United Methodist Church, Honey Grove, Texas with Rev. David Shawver persiding. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Sara was born February 14, 1920 in Honey Grove, Texas and graduated from Honey Grove High School.
She married Keith Hall of Honey Grove on October 29, 1938 and they lived in numerous locations during Keith's career with the Texas & Pacific Railway Company as well as in San Diego during World War II. They lived in Gladewater, Texas for twenty years before moving to Arlington in 1968. While in Gladewater, Sara was very active in the First Methodist Church, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Gladewater Garden Club, and Rotary Anns and was heavily involved in her children's activities. After moving to Arlington, she also worked for the Texas & Pacific Railway Company and retired in 1980. Following retirement, she and Keith enjoyed their grandchildren, travel and square dancing.
Sara was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, Newt and Mittie Neeley and brothers Manuel Neeley, Newman Neeley, John Neeley and sisters Ethelene Richardson and Lola Huffer.
Survivors: daughter Anita Everhart and her husband John of Dallas; son Ron Hall and his wife Pam of Arlington; sister-in-law Vera Mae Hall of Honey Grove; sister-in-law Vivian Neeley of Roxton, sister-in-law Jean Hall of Arlington, and sister-in-law JoAnne Dufilho of Mills River, N.C.; grandchildren Stagg and Shawn Everhart, Emily Hanchey and husband Brian, Becky Fenn and husband Brett, and J.D. and Eric Hall, seven great grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews.
Local arrangements will be under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, 803 East Main St., Honey Grove, Texas 75446.
