Helen G. Boosalis, 89 years of age of Lincoln, died Monday June 15, 2009. Member of Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 1957-59 President of the Lincoln League of Women Voters, member of Lincoln City Council 1959-1975, former Mayor of the City of Lincoln from 1975-1983, 1981-1982 President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Director of the Department on Aging 1983-1986, 1988-1997 Trustee of National Trust for Historic Preservation, 1996-1998 Chair of Arbor Day Foundation, and 1996-1998 Chair of AARP Board of Directors. Helen is survived by her husband, Michael G. Boosalis.
