Mrs. Patricia June Heap Heaton, 60, of McLean, Va., died Monday, Feb. 6 at George Washington University Hospital. She was a native of Washington, D.C. and worked as a medical technologist with her husband, Dr. Ray Heaton in Arlington, Va.

She was a daughter of the late Earl N. Heap Jr., editor for the old Washington Star, and Olga T. Heap, long-time Washington resident.

She was born June 21, 1928 in Baltimore. She attended Bethesda/Chevy Chase High School, graduating in 1946. She attended Wells College in Aurora, N.Y. and graduated from American University in 1954. She also attended Nurses Training in Baltimore at Union Memorial Hospital.

She and her husband maintained a medical practice in Pomeroy, Ohio until 1970 and resided in Havre de Grace between 1970-1973. She and her husband relocated to the Washington area in 1973.

She was vice president and president-elect of the Auxiliary to the Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association and a member of the American Medical Technologists Association. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Kena Temple of Fairfax, Va.

Mrs. Heaton and her family maintained homes in McLean, Va. and Beallsville since 1973.

She retired from active practice in 1982.

Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Susan Nutt of Oak Park, Ill., and Patricia Heaton, Rochester, Minn.; two sons, Dr. Roy Heaton of Arlington, Va. and Dr. Joseph Heaton, South Bend, Ind.; and one brother, Earl N. Heap III, Bethesda.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Poolesville Presbyterian Church, in Poolesville. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association, auxiliary scholarship fund, care of Mrs. John Cifala, 2778 Washington Blvd., Arlington, Va. 22207. Funeral services are being arranged by Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville.
