Lil Bill passed away during an implant procedure. This is unchartered territory and this time she didn't make it.

I thought she was a boy until she was 8 mos old and layed an egg. I never changed her name; just kept it as Lil Bill. The egg laying was the problem she suffered with.
She was eggbound one time and almost died. Next she layed an egg and part of her insides came out. Than something began to happen that the drs couldn't really explain. Each month when her hormone levels went up, she would begin to scratch and scratch and pull all the feathers from around the vent area and on her stomach. Her tummy would be red and bleed. She was so uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. Many nights she couldn't rest and would be in and out of the cage trying to get comfortable so she could sleep.

So the dr began giving her Lupron injections which would last only about two weeks and then she would need another one. This was a three hour trip once or twice a month for several years. There is no local Dr to give these injections. Next came the Lupron implant, which went well the first time but only lasted 4 months. This last time she did not awaken.

Our hearts grieve more than one can imagine, unless you have known the love of a bird. These little guys are so human! Losing her is so heart breaking. She almost made it to her 8th birthday!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lil Bill was my monkey. This little girl was always checking out every nick and corner of the cage and every thing outside the cage. She was forever sticking her beak into anything that interests her. Lil Bill had no fear. She was such a cutie!
You could see the mischief in Lil Bill's eyes! She was a tail puller and kept the other birds running to stay out of her way! She would grab onto a tail and pull from side to side, and the bird would be screaming his head off. She seemed to enjoy this so much. In the last couple years her tail pulling had gradually disappeared.
In the first couple of years she was a little "butterball" but then she slimmed down to look just like a 'little lady'. She was so beautiful and we loved her so very much!
Lil Bill was Harley's mate.
