Died ha his home on route one, Dec. 21, 1918, A. H. Glasby, aged 74 years. Mr. Glasby was born in St. Louis and when a young man went to Arkansas where he was engaged in the mercantile business for many years. He came to Newton county about 40 years ago and has been a resident of Five Mile township. He was a man with natural habits, honest in all his dealings. If he had an enemy he was unknown. He was liked by everyone who knew him. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Mitchell, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. Interment was in Hornet cemetery. Rev. D. F. Gregory conducted the funeral which was held at the cemetery.
