Of 373 Western Ave, age 80, at his late residence Saturday, Dec 16, 1973. Born in Elgin, a Joliet resident for the past 45 years. He was employed as a superintendent for Groups III and V at the Joliet Arsenal, retiring in 1958. Previously, we was 10 years employed under Edward J Barrett, secretary of state for the state of Illinois.

Member of Alumni of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN, 55 year member of Monogram Club (football under Knute Rockne, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (law degree) class of 1918, 42 year member Amerinca Legion Post 41, LaGrange.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mr & Mrs Christopher Whipple, 2 borthers Leslie and Ronald, 1 sister Jessie Bell. Surviving is his wife Bernice Buffo (nee Lewis), 1 son James A Buffo of Orlando, FL, 2 sisters, his twin Ruth Digman of Detroit, Mich and Mis Mae Whipple of Elgin. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.

Remains are resting at Fred C Dames Funeral Home. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery
