Clayton G. Wert, RD2, died yesterday at his home. He was 59 years old.
Mr. Wert was born in Cumberland County a son of the late William H. and Sylvania Bear Wert and was employed for 19 years at the P.O. Sunday warehouse at New Kingstown. He was a member of the Brethren In Christ Church and the Adult Bible Class of the Sunday School and the New Kingstown Fire Co.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine Lebeck Wert; five sons, Paul E., RD3; Harold E., RD6; Ray E., RD2; Dale E., at home, and Merle E., Carlisle; two daughters, Mrs Pearl Bouder, RD2, and Mrs. Sylvia Klick, Harrisburg; three brothers, Earl W., and Charles W., both of RD2, and Jesse H., RD1; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Shughart, RD3, and Mrs. Margaret Trego, RD5, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Brethren In Christ Church. Rev. Paul L. Snyder, Rev. Simon Lehman and Rev. R.H. Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday night at the Shulenberger and Roth Funeral Home, 169 West High Street, and at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
