Mr. William Sears, telegraph operator at Dickerson Station, Montgomery County, and Miss Airy V. Duvall, also of Dickerson, were married at the Methodist Protestant parsonage, Buckeystown, this county, by Rev. William Strayer, on Wednesday, June 21 [1899].

William Sears, 67-year-old resident of Dickerson, was found dead in his automobile early Monday afternoon after his car had run off the road into a bank at Block Acres near Greenfield. The death was investigated by the County Medical Examiner, Sheriff Guy Anders and Deputy Sheriff Horace Alexander and was pronounced due to natural causes. He was believed to have suffered a heart attack and died while operating his machine.

A son of the late William Thomas and Sarah Jane Sears, Mr. Sears was born in Frederick county and moved to Dickerson 40 years ago. He went into the employ of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a telegrapher in 1897 and served offices in Boyds, Dickerson, Adamstown and Frederick Junction.

Mr. Sears retired from active duty on December 1, 1937. He was a member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers and was presented a medal for 25 years services.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Victoria Sears, and two children, William Linwood Sears, and Miss Marjorie Sears, Dickerson. Two brothers and four sisters, Ira T. Sears, Edward C. Sears and Miss Florence Sears, Adamstown; Mrs. Annie Cecil, West Friendship; Lillie Cooley, Dickerson, and Mrs. Minnie Gregg, Comus, also survive.

Funeral will be held Thursday from the Dickerson Methodist church at 10 o'clock. Interment Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. William B. Hilton, funeral director.
