Funeral services were held Monday, April 8 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in spencer for Harold Winchel Morisch, who passed away at the Riverview Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Spencer on Thursday, April 4, 2002. Rev. Roger LInnan officiated

Interment was held at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer

Harold Winchel Morisch, the son of Winchel and Amelia (Loss) Morisch was born November 30, 1910 in Loretto, Nebraska. His childhood years were spent in Loretto, where he received his early education.

Following his schooling, he remained at home, where he farmed with his father

Harold married Magdalene Faust on October 4, 1938 in Petersburg, Nebraska. following their marriage, they lived in Petersburg, where they continued to farm until 1952. In 1952, they moved to northwest Iowa, eventually settling in Spencer in 1960, where he continued to farm. Harold also worked as a carpenter and worked as a custodian and drove the lunch van for the Spencer Schools

He was also a custodian at the YMCA, until his retirement

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer and was very active in the Senior Center before going to the Riverview Terrace

Survivors include his seven children and their spouses; Ella Mae and Don Dirksen of Des Moines; Bill and Connie Morisch of Carlos, Minnesota; Bob and Sue Morisch of Spencer; Ed and Pat Morisch of Spencer; Mary and Gary Orthmann of Sutherland; Larry and Nancy Morisch of Fort Worth, Texas; Katie and Gary Weiskircher of Milford; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Eunice Meyer of Spalding, Nebraska; other relatives and many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Magdalene on March 24, 1998; one son, Gayle Morisch; one grandson, Doug Morisch; five brothers; James, Victor, George, Leo and LuVerne and three sisters; Josephine Eckerson, Marie Miller and Cecilia Meyer
