Old Veteran Passes Away
A.J. Esslinger, Pioneer Madison County Citizen Died Today

Andrew J. Esslinger, a pioneer resident of Madison County, died this morning at the age of 85 at the home of his son, Thomas H. Esslinger of 313 West Holmes street. Mr. Esslinger was a life long member of the Methodist church and was a well known citizen of Madison County. He was tax collector from 1892 to 1898.

Widow: Mrs. Margaret Hodges Esslinger
Four sons: W.F. and Thomas Esslinger of Huntsville; Arthur G. Esslinger of Fairfield, Alabama; A.W. Esslinger of Cameron, Texas
Three daughters: Mrs. Marion D. Prewett of Helena, Arkansas; Mrs. J.I. Cobb of Gurley; Mrs. D.M. Layman of Huntsville
Four brothers: W.W. Esslinger, B.F Esslinger, T.R. Esslinger; J.C. Esslinger - all of Madison County.
One sister: Mrs. E.J. Ellett
Many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be tomorrow at the First Methodist church in Huntsville.
