Eli was the oldest of five children born to Austin Willard and Ardellia Viola 'Delia' (Williams) Kivett. He married Eva Elizabeth Dones and they were the parents of seven children: Mary Gertrude, William Earl, James Hardee, Ivey Ruth, Beulah Marie, Viola and Franklin Taylor.

Funeral for Eli Everett Kivett 67,of 609 Cranbrook St., who died yesterday at Wesley Long Hospital after declining health of 10 years, will be held at 2 p..m. Saturday in Clifton Road Baptist Church.
The Rev. Sherman Young, pastor of the church and the Rev. Lawrence Leonhardt Jr. pastor of Merritt Drive Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
A resident of Greensboro for 25 years, he attended Clifton Road Baptist Church. He was employed by Quaker Broom Co.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eva Dones; two sons, William Earl Kivett of the home and Franklin T. Kivett of Greensboro; two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Waldrop and Mrs. Viola Holder, both of Greensboro; two brothers, Lawrence and Hubert Kivett, both of Ramseur; and a sister, Mrs. Ellie Pell of Route 1, Ramseur, 14 grandchildren and four great-­grandchildren.
The body will remain at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home on West Market Street until the service.
