Thomas O. Whitworth, 78, Fulton, died Feb. 2, 1998 at the NMMC. He was a native of Tremont and a longtime resident of Fulton. He attended Southside Baptist Church in Fulton. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from July 17, 1942 until Dec. 9, 1945, and attaining the rank of Tech 4.

Services were Feb. 4 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with burial in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two sisters, Willie Mae Whitworth of Fulton and Lois Estes of Winfield, Ala.; one niece, Martha Farrar of Winfield, Ala.; one great niece, Karen Farrar of Winfield; a special cousin, Jackie Nell Williams of Tupelo; a special friend, Harlon Farrar of Winfield.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Olen Whitworth.
