George Fogo, 83, a long-time tax consultant and real estate agent in the city, died suddenly at his home Sunday (Aug. 19, 1973).
He was born Sept. 6, 1889 in Richland Center and was the son of Harvey and Caroline Morrow Fogo. He married the former Stasia Borchardt in 1916.
Mr. Fogo was a graduate of Richland Center High School and taught in rural schools. He was a graduate of the Agricultural Short Course at the University of Wisconsin and studied accounting at the Madison Business College.
He farmed in the Towns of Dayton and Marshall before coming to Richland Center to open his own office in 1941, retiring in 1967.
He was a life-time member of the Presbyterian Church, where he had been a trustee and a Sunday School teacher in past years. He also had been a school board member and a town board member.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.
Surviving him are his wife, Stasia, Richland Center; a son, Dr. Alden Fogo, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and a daughter, Alice, Mrs. Clifford Crapser, Sauk City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday with the Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was in the Richland Center Cemetery.
