MADISON — Phyllis J. Quayle, age 84, a resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at home.
Born Nov. 11, 1927, in Rochester, N.Y., she was a daughter of Louise (Hutchinson) and Harry Peterson and was a 1945 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. She married Perry Quayle on Jan. 10, 1948.
A Homemaker, Phyllis was active in the Lake County Farm Bureau and at Park United Methodist Church in Madison.
She was a member of the Grapevine Club and loved knitting for Project Hope and other organizations.
She enjoyed cross stitching, crossword puzzles and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah (John) Sample of Madison; sons, H. Charles (Susan) Quayle of Madison, Bruce Quayle, John (Gail Hopkins) Quayle of Unionville, Ohio, Mark (Pat) Quayle of Perry, Ohio, and Dennis Quayle of Madison; grandchildren, Perry, Scott, Dan, Dustin, Matthew, Mark II, Katelyn and Tanya; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Noah, Aidan, Emmet, Morgan and Cooper; sisters, Mary and Nancy Peterson, both of Arizona; and loving caregivers from Hospice of the Western Reserve, Lisa, Sindy and Kathy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; son, Philip Quayle; grandson, Benjamin; her parents; and brother, Donald Peterson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22nd, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, 26 River St., Madison.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23rd, at Park United Methodist Church, 31 Park St., Madison. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
