Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilkinson held Saturday

Mrs. Adrietta Wilkinson, long a resident of Denmark Township, Washington County, passed away at Latto Hospital in Hastings on Wednesday January 12. Funeral Service will be held from the Congregational church in Prescott on Saturday afternoon, at 2:30.

Two Sons, one daughter, and a sister survive Mrs. Wilkinson. The sons are Wayne of Denmark Township, and McGray, living in Canada who is expected here in time for the funeral. The daughter is Mrs. Merelle Wilkinson of California, and the sister is Mrs. F.W. Murphy of Minneapolis.

Mrs. Wilkinson Funeral held at Prescott, Widow of Washington Co. Farmer nearing 83rd birthday.

Mrs. Reese Wilkinson of Washington County, 82 years old was buried Saturday afternoon in the Prescott cemetery following funeral services at 2:30pm in the Prescott Congregational Church with the Rev. E.W. Savage pastor officiating. Neighbors and friends acting as pallbearers were Mark Wright, William Benitt, Fred Pechacek, and Clint Johnson of Denmark and Edward Longsworth and Fred Trulson of Prescott. Hymns were sung at the services by Mrs. Harry Sparling and Mrs. Elizabeth Betzel of Prescott with Mrs. Floyd Leseman as organist.

Adrietta McGray, daughter of William McGray, pioneer lumberman of the St. Croix Valley and Mrs. McGray, was born in Prescott, March 10, 1861. She attended the Prescott school and later attended Carleton College, Northfield. For several years she taught school. Her positions including one at the Prescott public school. Following her marriage to Reese Wilkinson in Prescott the couple lived on a farm near Prescott and also owned and operated a farm near Stillwater before going to Los Angeles, California in 1916. Some years later the couple returned to this community to purchase the Eli Dibble farm in Denmark, Washington County, where Mr. Wilkinson died in 1933.

Since her husbands' death Mrs. Wilkinson continued to live on the farm with her son Mr. Wayne Wilkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson had four children, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving are McGray of Radville, Sask., Canada, Mrs. F.L. Wilkinson (Merelle) of Arcadia, California and Wayne T of Washington County. Mrs. Wilkinson had been in poor health for some time, but since September her health steadily failed. She died Wednesday, January 12, in Latto hospital here.

As a member of the Congregational Church of Prescott, Mrs. Wilkinson was faithful in her affiliation to her church and she gave generously of her means toward its support. She made a hobby of tatting and she did much handiwork of this kind for relatives and friends. She also designed tatted articles to give to church for benefit affairs.

Attending the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. F.L. Wilkinson of Arcadia, Cal., Mr. and Mrs. McGray Wilkinson of Radville, Sask., Mr. and Mrs. Otis Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson of St Paul and Mrs. F.W. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fosberg, Mrs. David Edelsten and William Edelsten of Minneapolis.
