Co. D 129th Illinois Infantry, muster in 8 Sep 1862, muster out 8 June 1865. Patterson, James F., private, res. Glasgow, Scott Co., IL
There is a story that he fell down a mineshaft and died there, but that man's death date does not match the death date given in his pension record. So it can't be the same man unless someone lied to get her widow's pension.
Buried next to his wife although not of record.
His parents names remain unknown, although some have placed him with James and Sarah (McCormack) Patterson, but that James is still single and living with them on the 1850 census. If you look them up on the Family Search site they are PATTESON not PATTERSON. That James PATTESON was married twice and lived and died in Texas.
So if you don't believe what I write provide some proof to the contrary and I don't mean copy what someone has put on an Ancestry Tree. Do the work and find the proof in the primary records. Some may mean well but don't follow through on their research. Ancestry Trees are full of false information, do not trust it!
