Mr. J.D. Stein of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 at the age of 81 years. He was born Joe Douglas Stein on October 1st, 1930 the son of Joseph "Joe" Stein and Ella Baag Stein, Texas A&M Graduate 1952, Member of the ROTC, and Served in U. S. Army from Aug 18, 1952 to Mar 27, 1954 as an officer with the rank of 2lt. Owner-operator of Stein Lumber Company, married Gerri Sue O'Shaughnessy on October 17th, 1959 in Dallas, Texas.
Preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, May, Mrs. Tyrus T. Cox; Mrs. Merlee Petermann; Viola, Mrs. Bill Bench and by two brothers, Harvey Stein & Clifton Stein
J. D. is survived by his wife, Gerri Sue O'Shaughnessy Stein of Fredericksburg
Two sons & spouses, Jerry & Tammy Stein of New Braunfels, Texas Doug & Sheryl Stein of Argyle, Texas
Five grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 A. M. in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
Graveside services and interment with military honors accorded by the United States Army detail from Ft. Hood, Texas, will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
