Wife of (1) William Morton and (2) David Carl Barnett. Daughter of Ruth (Brown) and James Ware. Anna was born in Gloucester Township in old Gloucester County, now Winslow Township, Camden County.
Anna and William married about 1842 and had five children. They are Ruth Anna, Rebecca, Anna B. 'Amy', James Ware and William 'Willie'.
William, Anna and their children moved to Pleasant Township, Lucas County, Iowa prior to 1868. Willie was later born in Clarence, Dayton Twp, Cedar, Iowa 9 Apr 1868.
After her first husband William passed away in 1877, Anna married David Carl Barnett on 2 Jul 1878 in Lucas County, Iowa. The 1880 US Census shows them living in Pleasant Twp, Lucas County, Iowa. Sometime later they migrated to California with David's granddaughter Amy Wilkins (from a previous marriage) and Anna's son Willie.
Anna passed away on 1 Apr 1896 and was buried a few days later in the Susanville Cemetery, aged 72 Yrs, 3 Mo.
David Barnett then moved to Wynoka, OK to live with his son Joseph E. Barnett until his death 3 years later, in 1899.

In the 1870 US Census, David Barnett was erroneously listed at David Barnes. He was born abt 1817 in PA abt 1817 and was living in Pleasant Twp, Lucas, Iowa near to Anna Maria Ware Morton. In this census, David was married to Elizabeth and their children were Joseph, Hannah and Mary F.
In the 1880 US Census, David was now listed as Barnet, born abt 1818 in PA and was living in the same place, but his wife is Anna M. Two children are with them: Amy Wilkins (David’s granddaughter) age 15, and Willie Morton, age 12.
The Iowa Marriages 1851-1900 gives his marriage to Anna Morton (misspelled at Martin) as married 2 Jul 1878 in Lucas County, Iowa. Here his name is spelled Barnett.
David Barnett registered to vote in the California on 24 Sep 1884. (See Voter Registers, 1866-1898) “Barnet, David born in Pennsylvania, Occupation: Farmer, living in Susan River (Susanville), California. Registered to vote: 24 Sep 1884.”
It appears that, after Anna Maria Ware Morton Barnett died in 1896, David moved to live with his son Joseph E. Barnett in Waynoka, OK where he later died in 1899.
