She was a graduate of West High School and also attended Bliss College. Betty retired after 15 years from The Limited where she worked in training, inspecting, and merchandising.
She is survived by her husband and other half, Bill Ashbrook; son, Robert (Mary) Ashbrook; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Ryder; several nieces and nephews; and many friends, including lifelong friend Joanne Holcomb.
Betty loved going camping and attending festivals with Bill and their friends. She was a member of the Central Ohio Bluegrass Club, as well as the Apostolic Church. She studied the Bible every day, and she lived her life with purpose. People were drawn to her for her strength, compassion and wisdom, and she was well-liked by all who had the chance to meet her.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus.
