JOHN P. NEVINS, RETIRED, DIES IN HIS 71ST YEAR
John Pierce Nevins, of 24 Forrester street, who was retired a few years ago after serving for 25 years as an engineer at the Towle Manufacturing company, died last night at the Anna Jaques hospital at the age of 70 years, 10 months, 12 days. He was born in New Gloucester, Me., the son of Amos and Mary (Pierce) Nevins, and had been a resident of this city for many years.
Mr. Nevins leaves three sons, Guy Nevins, August, Me., John I. Nevins, this city and Winfield S. Nevins of Michigan; and three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Klain, Portland, Me., Mrs. L. D. Fothergill, Lexington, and Miss Irene Nevins, this city; a sister, Mrs. Davis Merrill, Fryeburg, Me.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Fiske Memorial chapel of the Belleville Congregational church, Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock.
