NORA, VIRGINIA - Carson William McCoy, 75, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his home.
He was born in Dickenson County, Virginia; son of the late Hop and Mae McCoy. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Irene Lambert. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was a retired miner.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie McCoy; one son, Jerry McCoy and wife, Mary of Nora, Virginia; one sister, Ruby Sifford of St. Paul, Virginia; two brothers, Clyde McCoy of Nora, Virginia and Glen McCoy of Nora, Virginia; one son-in-law, Holland Lambert of Nora, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jerry Junior McCoy and Samantha McCoy; three great grandchildren, Zach McCoy, Caleb McCoy, and Tristan Blake McCoy; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Carson William McCoy will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 in Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church, Brushy Ridge, Nora, Virginia with Rev. Robert Ward and Rev. Stacy Vanover officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Cemetery, Brushy Ridge, Dickenson County, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Jerry Junior McCoy, Neil McCoy, Jason McCoy, Joey McCoy, David Sifford, and Ralph McCoy.
The body will be taken to the Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church, Brushy Ridge, Nora, Virginia where the family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011.
