Helen Irene McCloud Honsicker was born on June 17, 1913 on a family farm west of Girard, Kansas. She passed away in Italy, Texas on January 11, 2012. She graduated from Girard High School in 1933 and worked for Mr. Haldeman as a typist beginning in her Junior year. Helen worked for him over 2 years until she married and moved away. While Helen and Earl were living in California she was the bookkeeper for the Salvation Army and then went to work as the head bookkeeper for the Hayward Daily Review newspaper. She retired from there after 20 or 25 years. Helen and Earl moved to Lancaster, Texas in 1976. Helen was an outstanding cook, her desserts, casseroles and salads were delicious and she was an excellent seamstress. Helen and Earl were very active in the Lancaster chapter of the Eastern Star. Helen served 2 terms as the Worthy Matron in Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl and her daughter, Nancy. She is survived by her son, James Earl Honsicker, Jr. and wife, Janet and their family. All who knew her loved her, and we will greatly miss her.

Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Midlothian Funeral Home with burial at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak.
