Irene L. Sloan of Creswell, OR. died Jan. 19, 2004 following a stroke. She was 86. Sloan was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Postville, Iowa, to Pete and Mabel Meyer Meland. She married Lloyd Sloan in California on Feb. 8, 1944. He died Feb. 25, 1979. She raised 12 children. She settled in this area 15 years ago. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce and Mindy; five sons, Greg, Gene, Stanley, Richard and Darryl; a stepdaughter, Irene; a stepson, Gary; a sister, Burnetta Peteson; and 49 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A daughter, Julie, and two sons, Larry and Lloyd, died previously. Burial, Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary, Eugene, OR.
