Paul Daily Morton was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1930 to Margaret Agnes Dailey and Paul Leach Morton. He was the older brother of Richard Burton Morton and Mary Margaret Morton. Paul spent his childhood in Erie. In 1945 his father moved the family to San Francisco he threw himself into athletics where he greatly excelled. He earned a total of 10 varsity letters in swimming, football, and water polo during his high school career. He swam for the Olympic Club.

Paul served in the Air Force being stationed in England, Austria and Germany.

He was an avid aviator. He loved to fly and earned his pilot's license He loved to golf. Mostly, he loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Schmitt Morton of Provo, son Ryan (Deena) Evans of Manti, UT, and daughters, Susan (Mike) McMillan of Pittsburg CA, Sharlene (Brian) Evans of Orem. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He spent many years in volunteer service for the United States Naval Academy as an athletic recruiter with his best friend, Tom Teshara.

Funeral services will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at 12 p.m. Interment will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
