West Liberty--Charles Wilson Abbott, 86, a retired railroad expressman who had been a West Liberty resident for 66 years, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home, following an extended illness.
The son of John and Amy Carmean Abbott, he was born September 3, 1865 at Monmouth, Illinois. He married Dorothy Parris December 21, 1887 at West Liberty.
Survivors include one son, Albert Abbott, Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Smith, West Liberty; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Snider Funeral home. Burial will be at the Oakridge cemetery.
