Helen Kleisart emigrated with a brother from Borgentreich in Westphalia, Germany in the mid 1850's. They came to assist and nurse an older brother who had emigrated earlier. He had been burned in a sugar processing plant. She married John Peter Weidert in 1859 at the Holy Cross Church in Rasselas. They had 6 children: Mary A. b.1858, Ann Marie b.1860, Michael J. b.1863, Rose C. b.1865, John Henry b.1866, and Lucy b.1869.
