Geneva was the 4th child born in Waters, Arkansas of her parents Luther Murray and Carie Catherine (Cheever) Rhoads. Waters was renamed Pine Ridge in 1936. The family moved to LeFlore County, Oklahoma by September 1925; Texas by Novemeber 1927; Antlers, Oklahoma by November 1929; before moving to Porterville, California in the early 1930's where they settled for many years.

Geneva is interned in the East end of the Fern Corridor in the Mausoleum on top of the hill in the southern portion of the cemetery.
