Ralph Steve Rittenhouse, 80, of Frankfort, died early Sunday morning, January 15, 2012. He was born in Ross County in the Village of Clarksburg on May 13, 1931 the son of the late Frederick and Mary Etta Reed Rittenhouse. On September 3, 1955 he married the former Joyce Ann Yoe who preceded him in death on November 24, 2004.

Surviving are his two daughters, Lois Everhart and her husband, Jon of Frankfort, Retonna Roberts of Chillicothe; his one son, Stephen Rittenhouse and his wife, Kim of Frankfort. Ralph had seven grandsons whom he was so proud of, Travis Everhart and his wife, Jenna, Justin Everhart and his wife, Kristi, Rodney and Ricky Roberts, Zak, Levi and Ethan Rittenhouse; step grandchildren, Kevin and Mark Roberts, Sara, Laura and Paul Brown; one step great grandson, Kohwen Brown and one step great granddaughter, Kelsea Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews; also surviving are two sisters, Louella Davis of Clarksburg and Ollie Roe of Circleville. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred "Sam", Tom, John, Don, Walter "Teddy"; sisters, Martha Justice and Mary Jane Reynolds; his half brothers, George Butler and Charles "Pete" Kelley.

He was a Korean War veteran serving active duty from November 20, 1952 to October 25, 1954. He was a proud American and instilled in his children that they lived in the greatest country in the world. He was a brick layer for the Jim Butt Company during the construction of Central Center in Chillicothe. He also was a laborer for John Roseboom Builders and he retired from Circleville Metal Works.

Services were entrusted to Ebright Funeral Home of Frankfort, Ohio.
