He was a longtime Okmulgee Businessman.He came to Okmulgee in 1939 on July 4th to accept a job as a Bench Jeweler and Watchmaker for Heilbron Brothers Jewelers. He married his wife Ruth Genevieve Bohannon in 1942 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okmulgee. Soon after marriage he left with the 99th Signal Corp of the US Army in California to New Guinea. He returned in 1946 and worked with Mrs. Helibron and her sister until they retired in 1960, when O.K. opened O.K. Staudt Jewelers, which has become a family business serving the Okmulgee area for the last 64 years. Mr. Staudt enjoyed working with his flowers and gardening, building things and other outside work. He was a member of the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce, Okmulgee Main Street and Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okmulgee.
Mr. Staudt’s parents Joseph and Helena Staudt along with eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Ruth G. (Bohannon) Staudt of the home, a son Oscar K. Staudt Jr. and his wife Susan of Guthrie, a daughter Ruth Chenault and her husband Steve of Plano, TX, a daughter Elizabeth Staudt of Okmulgee, a daughter Helena Deal and her husband Larry of May, OK and a son William J. Staudt and his wife Paula of Okmulgee twelve grandchildren David Karl, Christina Marie, Karen Joelle, Joseph Paul, Michelle, John O., Jennifer Ruth, Chad Ryan, Mendy, Nancy Kay, Robyn Genevieve and William Kasper, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister Xavier Gifford and two brothers Beno and Joe Staudt.
