Myron W. Miller, 88, of St. Rt. 73 Otway, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center, Portsmouth.

He was born on April 14, 1923, in Otway, and was the son of the late Charles Esto and Hulda Elizabeth Ralstin Miller.

He was united in marriage on Nov. 2, 1941, to the former Virginia White Miller who survives. Also surviving is one son, Ralph Miller and wife Linda of Carroll, Ohio; one daughter, Kay Price of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Thomas Miller and wife Lori of Dayton, Ohio, Beth Rideout and husband Paul of Portsmouth, Anna Binder of Portsmouth; great-grandchildren, Samuel Miller, Lila Rideout, Marissa Rideout, Madeline Watson, Michael Watson, Curstin Euton Darby, Aeriel Binder, John P. Binder, and Cena Binder; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carlos, Minor and Wells Miller; and a grandson, Patrick Euton.

Mr. Miller worked for the railroad for 10 years before becoming a lineman for the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric with 26 years of service. A member of the Peebles Lodge #781 F.&A.M., worked with Boy Scouts Troop #42 of Otway and enjoyed spending time with the restoration of Camp Oyo. He was a charter member and chaplain with the Otway Fire Dept., served as Mayor of Otway for 35 years, and attended the Peebles First Church of God.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Peebles First Church of God with Bros. Harold Keaton and Ron Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngs Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. A Masonic service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
