She was owner and operator of Curtis Cafe in Hayti for several years and last worked as dietitian for Pemiscot County Jail. She attended Braggadocio School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hayti.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Dub and Judy Pate of Portageville; one grandson, Brad Pate of Hayti; one great granddaughter, Brittney Pate of Caruthersville; one sister and her husband, Loreece and Leon of Saalwaechter of Germantown, Tenn.; one brother and his wife, Jay and Marjorie Curtis of Jonesville, Ia.; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Floyd Curtis of Heber Springs, Ark., Boyd Curtis of Portageville, Virginia Christian of Portageville, and Ruth Woolery of Wichita, Kan.; a host of other relatives and many friends.
Services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2000, 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Hayti, with Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
