Frank R. Elorette was born in 1857. His father, Lewis Elorette (or Elorett) came from France. His mother, Adliza C. Ellorette (or Elorett) came from Nova Scotia.

He married Flora Inez Dyer on November 29, 1882. She was 16, and he was 25. He was employed as a fisherman, then a sailor, then a master mariner.

He was lost at sea in 1891 when he was 34. The obituary of Flora Dyer Elorette says that Frank was the Captain of the schooner City Point of Portland, which went down on the Grand Banks.
