Gertrude L. Rummell came to Missoula by covered wagon, died Sunday in Missoula following a long Illness. She was born March 10, 1888, in Odell, Neb. She was educated in Nebraska and was married to Daniel D. Rummell May 23, 1907 in St. Michael Catholic Church in Spaulding, Neb. The couple moved to Lewistown in 1917 and remained until 1923, when they came to Missoula by covered wagon. The trip took three weeks. Mr. Rummel died in 1964. Mrs. Rummell was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and St. Francis Xavier Altar Society.

She is survived by ; seven sons, Leo, Mill City, Ore.; Frank, Salem, Ore; John, Los Altos, Calif.; Ray, Seattle; Robert, Salem, Ore.; Jimmy and Donald of Astoria, Ore.; six daughters, Olive Kirk, Astoria, OR; Ruth Baer Moore, Ruby Watson, Missoula; Sister Agatha Marie, Spokane; Clara White, Mill City, Ore.; and Anita Schulz, Missoula. Also surviving are 77 grandchildren, 121 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rummel is the last of nine children.

Rosary will be recited, Wednesday at 7 P.M. in Geraghty Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday at 10 A.M. at St. Franci Xavier with Father Fred Reidy, S.J., as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
