She attended school at Holy Rosary Mission, which is now Red Cloud High School.
She moved to Rapid City, where she married Richard L. Green on December 11, 1943. She worked at Sioux San Hospital for over thirty years before her retirement.
Survivors include four sons, Richard E. [Carol] Green, SR, Anthony "Corky" [Sharon] Green, Kenneth Green, and Patrick [Sally] Green, all of Rapid City; three daughters, Sandee [Leonard] Long, Madonna [Charles] Vermillion, and Priscilla [Mike] Red Leaf SR, all of Rapid City; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; one sister, Mary Jo Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM; and special friends, Deanna Lebeau, Genie Ellis, and all Sioux San Staff.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard L. Green on July 27, 1999; one daughter, Theresa; two grandchildren, Jenny and Kateri Dismounts; one great-grandson, Brandon Lybarger; four sisters, Lorene, Delores, Grace, and Irene; and two brothers, Tony and Bobby. Visitation and Wake will be Friday, January 20, at the Mother Butler Center, with a Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 21, at the Mother Butler Center with Rev. Father David Matzko,S.J.officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery at Rapid City.
