George C. Chapman, Former Mount Vernon resident, died Tuesday night at Freeland on Whidbey Island. Mr. Chapman was born June 26, 1886 in this state. As a young man he entered the Navy and after his discharge, Fallowed the occupation of a cook. Thirty years ago he owned a cafe in Mount Vernon, but in more recent years he had operated a cafe in Oak Harbor until his retirement.
Mr. Chapman is survived by a sister Mrs. Charles Wolfe of Retsil (sp?) and a brother,Earl Chapman of Granite Falls, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. William Dixon of Coupeville.
