Folk Figure, Murder Victim. Emily was a 24 year old new bride of Frederick Deeming. Her new husband was a serial killer, killing her on Christmas Eve in 1891. Emily was discovered with a fractured skull and her throat cut, she was found under the hearthstone of their rented home in Windsor, Melbourne. She was the daughter of John and Dove Mather. Emily was from Rainhill, England. Frederick had before Emily killed his first wife Marie and their four children, they were found entombed in concrete under the floorboards of his then home in Dinham Villa, near Liverpool. Deeming was hung on May 23, 1892 for the murder of Emily.
