BURGESS, Glenn W., age 53, of 2700 Yew Street, passed away in a local hospital
Tuesday, September 22, (1953). Mr. Burgess had resided in this community all his
life and was a plant operator for the City of Bellingham. He was a veteran of
the First World War with the U. S. Army, and was a life member of the Eureka
Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F &
A. M.; the Sehome Chapter No. 17 of the Order of Eastern Star, the Albert J.
Hamilton Post No. 7 of the American Legion. Surviving relatives include his
wife, Mrs. Marion Burgess, at the family home; a son, Glenn W. Burgess Jr., of
San Francisco; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Burnett and Mrs. Janet Palmer,
both of Bellingham; six grandchildren; one brother, Io Burgess, of Salem,
Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Shaw and Mrs. Ora Shaw, both of Bellingham,
and Mrs. Laura Medcalf, of Spokane; and many nephews and nieces. The remains
rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be
conducted by Rev. W. Carl Calhoun and officers of the Bellingham Bay Lodge No.
44, Thursday, September 24, at 11 a. m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial
Park.
