BERCHTOLD, Albert J. 86, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 05, 2011. He was born September 22, 1925 in Alexandria, Illinois the son of the late Stephen & Mary (Gier) Berchtold. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and retired after 35 years from Shell Oil Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion Post #286. He is survived by a two daughters, Joyce Berchtold, Carla (Lawrence) Simpson; a brother, Leo Berchtold; three sisters, Monica McFadden, Marie (James) Knoke and Sister DeMonfort; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta C. Berchtold; a sister, Isabel Richards. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Carlisle. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
