Rosa May was born in Madison County, Iowa, daughter of John & Frederica Schnellbacher. She usually was known by her middle name "May." She was first married in Madison County to Oliver Perry Haxton in 1889; then to Daniel Harberson Jessup, married on 9 April 1896 and divorced on 9 December 1897; and then to Warren C. Post in Des Moines in 1900. She had one daughter, Violet Haxton, with her first husband. After her marriage to Warren Post they lived in Des Moines - where she died in 1914. Warren Post was the son of Parley and Margaret Post of Des Moines and Rosa May is buried with the Post family in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
