Born in 1776 Penzanze, Cornwell, she was the daughter of Thomas Branwell and Anne Carne. She was one of twelve siblings. When her sister Maria became ill in 1821, Elizabeth when to Yorkshire to help care for her sister, and to help her sister's husband, care for their six children. When her sister passed away, Elizabeth stayed to help care for the children.
She has a large part of their education. She often funded her nieces ideas and her nephew, Branwell was found of her.
October 29th, 1842 Elizabeth passed away after suffering from an illness (believed to bowel constriction). She was 66.
