Betty Jean Mitchell, 87, of Pensacola passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Tuscaloosa, AL. She graduated from Tate High School in 1953 where she was voted Queen along with her husband to be in during their senior year. They were married on August 21st that year. Betty was voted most popular junior, was on the baseball team and was a member of the Beta Club, the Tate Marching Band and the Glee Club. Betty started work at Monsanto when the plant opened in 1953.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents, Allison and Ophelia Porter; her husband of over 41 years, Dee D "Mitch" Mitchell; her son, Richard Keith Mitchell; and her 3 siblings.
Survivors include her children, Cathy England (Steve) and David Mitchell (Mary Jane); 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Howell, Tyler England (Jenna) and Nichole Ranum (Nick); and 6 great grandchildren, Colton Howell, Tinley Howell, Haley Marie Ranum, Chole Ranum, Addison England and Maci England.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church in Cantonment from 10 AM till the service begins at 11 AM.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Mrs. Mitchell requested that Memorial donations be made to Allen Memorial United Methodist Church 206 Pace Parkway Cantonment, FL 32533.
