Funeral services were held May 10 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Rochester, MN, with Rev. Dale Tupper officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
Jennifer was born August 31, 1973, in Rochester to Mark and Joanie (Steffes) Gates. She graduated from Little Falls Community High School in Little Falls, MN, in 1991, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 1995. She then moved to the Minneapolis area where she worked in the Trend’s Department at Dayton’s. She enjoyed sports and volunteering her time to tutor reading for elementary students.
Jennifer is survived by her fiancé Greg T. Hatch of Eden Prairie; parents Mark and Joanie Gates of Marrero, LA; one brother, Dan Gates and his fiancée Annette Runge of Holland, MI; and two grandmothers, Violet Steffes of Rochester and Ethel Kothenbeutel of Rochester.
Pallbearers were Christopher Chafoulias, David Steffes, Jeff Steffes, Mark Chafoulias, Tony Steffes, Brian Steffes, and Jon Doring.
Memorials may be given to the March of Dimes or Multiple Sclerosis.
