Fred Guenther was born Aug. 29, 1916 to Ferdinand J. & Mary Foxhaven Guenther in Crofton, NE. He married Madeline Luft on Sept. 1, 1941, in Constance. He died Nov. 18, 1990.
After his marriage they farmed in the Crofton, Fordyce and Menominee areas. In 1978, they retired and moved to Crofton. He was a member of Crofton American Legion Auxiliary Post # 128 and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Survivors include eight children and spouses, Bonnie and Norbert Goeken, Norfolk; Almeda and LeRoy Arens, Fordyce; Gene and Cindy Guenther, Yankton, S.D.; Ken and Carol Guenther, Yankton, S.D.; Lila and Lorin Kuehler, Yankton, S.D.; Cynthia and Scott Mello, Yankton, S.D.; Don and Beth Guenther, Waverly; Carolyn and Rod Bates, Bronson,
