Christopher Mariano Mahan, 22 of Jersey City, while stationed at Barksdale Air Force Bass in Bossier City, Louisiana, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Born on August 15, 1989 in Jersey City, he was a graduate of the Rafael de Cordero School in 2004 and from James J. Ferris High School in 2008. While in High School he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Upon graduation from high school he entered the United States Air Force and bravely served our country in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In March of 2011 he returned to the Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana where he specialized in Logistics for the US Air Force. He received the 49th Transportation Battalion - Army Achievement Medal in March of 2010. Chris was active in many volunteer groups while stationed in Louisiana, including: The Re-Nesting Project, Salvation Army, Disaster Relief, Providence House, & the North West Louisiana Volunteer Center. He is the cherished son of Mariano DeJesus & Susan Mahan-DeJesus. Loving brother of Jamie & Tiana Mahan, Diana, Romeo, Karen, Christian & Pricilla DeJesus. Beloved grandson of Raymond Mahan, I. He is also survived by many loving Aunts & Uncles. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17 from 4:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. at the Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home, 143 Brunswick St. Jersey City, NJ. The Funeral with Full Military Honors will be conducted on Wednesday, January 18th beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michaels Church, Jersey City. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
